Held at Imperial College London, various stakeholders and researchers were able to see, discuss and understand the work CSM achieved as part of the HTCC programme.
Over the past six months, Cambridge Surgical Models has been working with the Healthcare Technology Capability Connector (HTCC) programme to accelerate innovation across the company. The HTCC is an initiative funded by Research England's Connecting Capability Fund, with the goal of bringing healthcare innovation into clinical use more quickly by supporting collaboration between SMEs, researchers and industry experts.
Cambridge Surgical Models' co-founders worked closely with scientists and researchers at Cranfield University, an institution renowned for its expertise in aerospace, engineering and advanced manufacturing. Together, the teams further developed both hardware and digital technologies that support Cambridge Surgical Models' mission to become a leader in high-fidelity surgical simulation and medical training tools for healthcare students and trainees worldwide. The programme also provided business consultancy, mentorship and commercial training, strengthening the team's in-house expertise and supporting the company's long-term growth.
Completed in June 2025, the HTCC programme was designed to translate research into real-world healthcare applications, accelerate SME innovation, and develop the next generation of entrepreneurial talent. Cambridge Surgical Models believes the programme successfully achieved these objectives, providing invaluable support that has accelerated both product development and business growth at the Company.
To conclude the programme, Cambridge Surgical Models exhibited at the HTCC Showcase, held in June 2025 at Imperial College London, where the company demonstrated its latest surgical simulation models and showcased the progress made through the collaboration.
